In Focus: Paul Patterson (Royal Northern College of Music)

Directed by Clark Rundell, the RNCM’s summer In Focus explores the musical world of RNCM tutor in composition Paul Patterson. Accompanied by Olivia Dance, Caroline looks forward to performing the song cycle The Sorriest Cow of Capricorn for soprano and piano in an evening concert featuring some of Patterson’s most exciting works. Juliet the Moon (Royal Northern College of Music)

This live installation will explore the musical life of Manchester during WWI and in particular the life and love of pianist and tutor Frank Merrick. Written especially to take place in the Library’s atmospheric Reading Room, the installation will feature new works by RNCM composers Philippos Rousiamanos and Deane Smith, for cellos, voices and singing glasses. Operatunity: An evening of operatic memories in support of Dementia Care

Caroline is excited to take part in this special recital raising funds for Dementia Care. The programme features arias and songs by Mozart, Gershwin, Délibes and more, performed by the Southampton Operatic Society Entertainers and soloists and accompanied on piano by Rachael Thorpe. Caroline returns to the Festival as an alumna for this exciting production of Mozart’s masterpiece, featuring Alexander von Zemlinsky’s two piano arrangement and a specially-commissioned narration by Scottish author Janice Galloway.
