I was delighted last month to perform for the Bollington, Macclesfield branch of the Royal British Legion, at an event celebrating the decoration of a WWII veteran. I was joined by soprano Rachel Speirs, harpist Sophie Rocks and accompanist Tessy Yu, all of the Royal Northern College of Music, for an evening of light opera, musical theatre and traditional song.
Roy Bennett received the Legion d’Honneur in a Black Tie dinner at the beautiful Hollin Hall Country House Hotel, Bollington. It was a great honour to be present for the ceremony and to perform for the guests, especially alongside such talented musicians and good friends from the RNCM. Many thanks to David Thickett and Andrew Langdon of the Legion for inviting us – and to the wonderful staff at Hollin Hall for making us feel so welcome!
