Those who know me well will be aware that I completely adore Gilbert and Sullivan’s The Pirates of Penzance – and so it is with great delight that I take on the role of Mabel this August at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe!
The production, directed by Peter Swallow and musically-directed by Samuel Boobier, features a stellar cast of students from St Andrews and other universities around the UK and is backed by the Mermaids Performing Arts Fund (University of St Andrews).
Fundraising activities are already underway; these have included a concert of Gilbert and Sullivan arias, ensembles and choruses in the Barron Theatre and a recent performance at the Anstruther Harbour Festival, showcasing the nautical numbers of Pirates and H.M.S. Pinafore.
This run will mark my debut at the Fringe – and I couldn’t be more excited to take part! If you’re in Edinburgh during August, please do come along.
