Smooth sailing with ‘H.M.S. Pinafore’!

January 2015 saw the return of the University of St Andrews Gilbert and Sullivan Society’s semi-staged production of H.M.S. Pinafore, directed by Konstantin Velichkov and musically-directed by Rebecca Anderson.

The production had a very successful debut in Brechin Cathedral in November 2014, press coverage for which can be found here: http://www.fifetoday.co.uk/news/local-headlines/st-andrews-students-aim-to-introduce-gilbert-and-sullivan-to-younger-audience-1-3663843. We then moved to the Boys’ Brigade Hall in St Andrews in late January for two evening performances and a matinee.

I was delighted to take on the role of Josephine – and to work alongside so many other talented performers. H.M.S. Pinafore is full of fantastic musical numbers and dialogue – and taking part in the production was a joy from start to finish!
